Metrac Inc. recently welcomed more than 150 people from across northwest Georgia to the grand opening of the company’s new branch at 180 Princeton Blvd. in Adairsville. Special guests included Adairsville’s mayor, long-time customers, local business executives and representatives of the Cartersville-Bartow County Chamber of Commerce.

“Our new facility is located more centrally within the area we serve, so it will be more convenient for many of our customers,” said Glen Hasty, operations manager of the new branch. “With so much of our business moving up and down Interstate 75, our new location halfway between Chattanooga and Atlanta will save many customers two or three hours of driving time when they need equipment, parts or service.”

The 15,000-sq.-ft. facility occupies almost five acres and replaces the company’s old branch in Rome, some 20 miles away. But according to Hasty, the Adairsville branch will continue to cater primarily to the area’s utilities and forestry industry.

“We have customers from Blue Ridge, to Rome and Adairsville, and on down to Cedartown,” Hasty said.

The new facility offers every variety of John Deere construction equipment available at other Metrac locations throughout Georgia. The branch can provide customers with backhoes, excavators, four-wheel-drive loaders, scrapers, crawler loaders, crawler dozers, feller bunchers, skidders, motor graders and skid-steers. The new branch also handles Trail King trailers, Bell articulated dump trucks, Solesbee heavy-duty attachments, Okada hydraulic demolition equipment, Superpac and Sakai compaction rollers, and Esco attachments and ground engaging tools.

In addition, the branch has an extensive selection of used equipment for sale, or for rent at reasonable rates by the week or month.

The newest branch also has an impressive service department, with a staff of seven highly-trained technicians and everything else needed to provide service to today’s latest equipment. One service bay houses a 160-ton track press. Four other double bays also stand by to attend to the service needs of customers, who can choose from a comprehensive lineup of on-going programs and services that will help them control costs and increase profits. Other prominent features of the service area include an advanced bulk oil system designed to minimize waste and maximize efficiency, and a new wash rack with its own wastewater recycling system.

Equipment operators can depend on the new Adairsville branch for emergency or preventive maintenance service in the field, as well. The facility has two service trucks available. Certified customer service advisor David Heath visits customers periodically to offer undercarriage evaluations, quotes on repairs, or any other information a customer may request regarding product support.

Even the parts department goes to great lengths for Metrac customers. The company carries an extensive inventory to support the products it sells, including a large stock of John Deere “MasterTrax” undercarriages that fit most makes and models of crawler dozers, loaders and excavators. Metrac also maintains more than 15 drop boxes for after-hours parts delivery throughout the Adairsville service area.

“On one occasion last week, we delivered parts to 10 drop boxes in one night,” Hasty said.

“We expect to attract many more John Deere customers as word gets around about our convenient new location, top-quality products, and excellent service,” Hasty said.

Founded in 1973, Metrac Inc. is the authorized John Deere construction equipment dealer in North Georgia. Headquartered in Atlanta, Metrac has sales and service operations in Braselton, Augusta, Columbus, and Macon.

Customers can get up-to-the-minute information on used and rental equipment inventories by calling 770/773-9857 or contacting Metrac headquarters at 404/691-9445. The Adairsville facility even offers complete financial services and sells John Deere and NASCAR toys, collectibles and outerwear like other Metrac locations.
