MITA Hosts 12th Annual Conference, Trade Show

The trade show featured information about the latest offerings from approximately 60 of Michigan’s leading equipment, product and service providers exhibiting at the show.

The Michigan Infrastructure & Transportation Association's (MITA) held its 12th annual conference and trade show at the Soaring Eagle Casino & Resort in Mount Pleasant, Mich., on Jan. 20 to 23. “The Long & Winding Road,” was the theme of this year's event, and it featured a number of informative sessions focused on maximizing opportunities moving forward. Sessions covered a range of topics from survival skills in balancing public and private market work, the latest technologies and how to employ them and attracting and developing talent for continued success. The event also provided an update on the MITA Political Action Committee initiatives as well as local and national regulatory issues. Along with being extremely informative, many of the courses carried the additional benefit of continuing education credits.

The trade show featured information about the latest offerings from approximately 60 of Michigan's leading equipment, product and service providers exhibiting at the show.

At the conclusion of the first day's round of meetings, AIS Construction Equipment Corporation/ Contractors Rental Corporation sponsored an open cocktail reception. Many of the attendees finished their first day of activities with a reception hosted by Ritchie Brothers Auctioneers.

The second day of activities started with a president's breakfast, sponsored by Alta Equipment Company, and the events closed with an industry reception sponsored by Michigan CAT.

The Michigan Infrastructure & Transportation Association was established in 2005 as a statewide organization representing nearly 600 Michigan companies involved with Michigan's road and bridge, sewer and water, utility, railroad, excavation and specialty construction.
