MPS Machinery, a Texas dealer in the aggregate industry, recently added Sandvik Mining and Construction’s Driltech and Tamrock drill lines to its line of Sandvik crushers.

Since 1978, MPS has carried Sandvik Rock Processing’s Jawmaster, Hydrocone H and S series, Impactmaster and Merlin vertical shaft impact crushers.

“We already had a majority of the customer base, being in the quarry business, and we have a lot of experience with rock,” said Donna Bossert, President of MPS Machinery. “Sandvik is a first-class operation that dedicates time and value to its personnel, customer service and product support. We are happy to be one of the first crushing distributors to also sell Sandvik’s drill line and look forward to continuing this wonderful relationship with them.”

MPS Machinery started as a small company in De Soto, TX.

Two years ago, Conley-Lott-Nichols (CLN), a major dealer of construction equipment in Texas, proposed a merger with MPS to strengthen sales of each company. Bossert agreed to the acquisition and has been thankful ever since.

MPS is now the aggregate division of CLN and has doubled its sales and number of employees since the merger.

“The merger enabled us to have more resources, financial backing and service facilities in north and south Texas,” said Bossert. “It was a great opportunity to position the company faster and help us grow.”

MPS and CLN have combined their customer bases to benefit both companies – with MPS receiving an 80 percent increase in customer opportunities and sales leads since the merger.

MPS is now a full-service Sandvik distributor with the capability to offer complete sales, design, installation and service to customers in the aggregate industry.

“We do everything – from when the rock is taken out of the ground to when the finished product leaves on conveyers,” said Bossert. “As a small company we were limited in what we could offer the customer. Now we can help them with everything in their quarry.”

The company has 11 employees: four in machinery sales, four in parts sales, one in service, one engineer and one clerical assistant.

Its offices are located in Irving and San Antonio, TX.

It sells and services the entire Driltech and Tamrock product lines for the quarrying industry, including blast hole, water well and down-the-hole drills, including the Commando, CHA, Pantera, Ranger and Scout lines.
