The employees of Naceville Materials in Sellersville, PA, are working to provide crushed stone products to residential, commercial and heavy infrastructure projects throughout Bucks and Montgomery counties. In late March, this job improved with the addition of a new contributor.

Naceville Materials, part of a joint venture between Haines & Kibblehouse (H & K) Materials and Miller Quarries, took delivery of a new Caterpillar 988H wheel loader. The 988H was the first H-series in either of the companies’ equipment fleets that include more than 350 pieces of Caterpillar equipment.

Naceville’s 988H is the third loader of its kind sold in dealer Ransome CAT’s territory. The 988H will load rock onto Caterpillar off-highway trucks that feed Naceville’s primary crusher.

The 988H is the latest model of Caterpillar’s flagship quarry and aggregate loader. Naceville’s 988H is equipped with a Cat heavy-duty quarry bucket that holds 8.3 cu. yd. of material and creates a three to four pass match with its off-highway trucks.

The 988H uses Cat wheel loader technology, with a Cat C18 ACERT powertrain. The C18 delivers 530 hp and uses Caterpillar’s emissions control technology that meets all EPA standards by managing the combustion cycle.

The 988H also features the STIC Control System that integrates steering, shifting and directional travel on a single left-hand controller. Operator productivity is improved by a series of systems including the EMS-III machine monitoring system, Rimpull control system, autoshift and ride control, according to the manufacturer.
