Nelson Ferreira, president of Ferreira Construction Company, which is located in Branchburg, NJ, was inducted as president of the Utility and Transportation Contractors Association (UTCA) at its 41st Anniversary Convention that was held at the Tropicana Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City in late September.

UTCA includes approximately 1,100 member firms active in road, bridge, utility and hazardous waste remediation construction, in the public and private sectors, throughout New Jersey.

UTCA’s new president has been active in construction for 21 years. He has served as a member of the UTCA board of directors for the past eight years. In addition to his endeavors in construction, Ferreira has been active for several years in support of programs that assist physically and mentally challenged youth.

More recently Ferreira, along with others, has been leading an effort in New Jersey to consolidate the activities of the heavy, highway and utility construction industry.
