The 49th annual Summer Field Days event held by the Nursery Growers of Lake County Ohio Inc. (NGLCO) was held on Aug. 9 at Ohio's largest estate winery, Chalet Debonne Vineyards, which maintains 175 acres of vines.
The event featured more than 150 exhibitors, including equipment dealers and industry suppliers presenting a variety of equipment, products and services geared toward Ohio's dynamic nursery and landscape industry. Ohio State University extension researchers and educators also were available throughout the day to provide information and address specific concerns in one on one conversations. Association members also were invited to bring employees of Ohio Certified Nursery Technician Exams.
The association's annual Summer Field Days event presents association members with an opportunity to learn about the latest industry related updates and innovations in a fun and relaxing atmosphere designed to encourage networking and the exchange of ideas.
The Nursery Growers of Lake County Ohio was formed in 1927 as an educational and advocacy forum for Lake County's nursery industry. The association's membership now totals more than 100 licensed nurseries and a nursery stock operations. With an estimated wholesale figure of more than $90 million in sales annually, Lake County's nursery industry employs more than 2,700 full and part-time workers.
