Keen Transport hosted a Hyundai regional sales training school April 10 and 11 in Carlisle, Pa.

The training session’s purpose was to fully prepare Hyundai sales representatives with information and hands-on training on the differences between the Dash-7 model excavators and wheel loaders and the new Dash-7A models.

Classroom time, walk arounds and some “stick time” were the order of business for both days. In the classroom setting, product presentations, sales assistance and maintenance issues were presented and discussed by Hyundai’s National Service Manager David Pooley, Sales Managers Dennis Turney and Stan Park, as well as other district and national Hyundai representatives.

On the Dash-7A Hyundai wheel loaders, design objectives targeted four key components including operator comfort through design; economically and environmentally friendly machines; accessibility for service; and reliability.

There are more than a dozen operator comfort and design improvements on the wheel loaders including optimal ventilation; cabin design for improved visual range to the front and rear and a 10 percent increase in the cabin size over the Dash-3 series; upgraded computer system, including an intelligent cluster with integrated dashboard and switch panels; smoother gear shifting; dual brake pedals; and other attributes which make these machines noticeably different than past models, according to the manufacturer.

The Dash-7A wheel loaders are equipped with Tier III electronic engines, which provide lower emissions and reduced noise while providing heavier duty components and improved electronic control and diagnosis. Improvements have been made on the accessibility of the engine room and cabin. Remote drains allow for ease of draining coolant and engine and hydraulic oil. A standard reversible fan makes for easy cleaning of the cooler.
