The excitement from being the first to see the all new John Deere L&M series forestry equipment at the Northeastern Forest Product Equipment Expo continued for invited guests of Nortrax on May 15. More than 300 attended the open house and customer appreciation event at the Nortrax location in Hermon, Maine. While everyone got to see the new John Deere “game changers” in forestry equipment at the expo, the open house was their first opportunity to see the new 948L grapple skidder.

Kevin Fowler, Nortrax general manager, said the 948L was the focal point and a popular spot for the crowd to gather throughout the evening. The new John Deere L-Series skidders are reliable and productive, delivering more horsepower, stability and grapple options for serious performance in the woods. A number of John Deere product specialists also were on-hand to provide information and walk-arounds of all the construction and forestry equipment on display. Everyone enjoyed the evening’s beautiful seasonal weather as well as the smoked barbecue dinner with all of the trimmings. Jeanne Lidstone of RE Lidstone Logging, New Sharon, Maine, won the John Deere gun safe door prize.
