Racine Retires After 39 Years of Service With Ransome CAT

Charlie Racine has retired from Ransome CAT after 39 years of service at the Giles & Ransome facility in Bear, Del.

Racine was hired on April 8, 1968, as a service clerk in the parts department and throughout his tenure held a variety of positions in the service department.

As shop manager, Racine played a major part in establishing Giles & Ransome’s reputation for providing quality service, which continued in his role as branch manager, a position which he held from 1990 to 2007.

In addition, Ransome CAT has appointed Patrick Kerns to the position of branch manager at its Bear, Del,. facility.

Kerns has been in the industry for 10 years and with Ransome CAT since October 2002 as store manager of The CAT Rental Store on N. DuPont Highway in New Castle, Del.

As rental manager, Kerns was responsible for setting the operating standards and policies, analyzing the local market and responding appropriately to changes on competitive offerings, market stability and growth opportunities.

In his new role at the branch, he will oversee all product support functions which includes: machine service work performed in the main shop, as well as field service; parts operations; profit and loss responsibilities; and customer service.

Kerns will use his experience as a CAT Rental Store manager in the New Castle County territory and his extensive knowledge of the Cat product line to better serve customers.
