On Aug. 6, Rudd Equipment, the Pittsburgh, PA, Volvo Construction Equipment dealer, held its first annual Demo Expo at the city’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway.

The event featured Volvo excavators, backhoe loaders, wheel loaders, skid steers and a host of other equipment. Local operators were invited to show off their skills at several equipment competition stations during the event. In addition, a live country band provided background music as attendees were treated to a country picnic-style cookout with food and refreshments. As a bonus, free tickets to the evening’s races at the Speedway were handed out to attendees at the event’s check-in station.

Several Volvo territory representatives also were on hand to provide technical expertise and answer customer questions.

The event was staged as a way to say thank you to Rudd’s customers in the Pittsburgh area and showcase Rudd’s product lines in an atmosphere where event-goers could get behind the controls of these machines.

According to vice president and branch manager, Ron Filipiak, the event was a big success that was fun for all.
