Rush Enterprises Inc. kicked off its two-week October "Deere-Fest" by cutting a ribbon to mark the grand opening of its newest construction equipment dealership, located in Troy, a suburban area north of Detroit.
Each business day from Oct. 10 through Oct. 23, the company has scheduled open house events at the Rush Equipment Center, 2045 Austin Drive. Lunch will be served to customers, vendors and guests and door prizes will be awarded.
On Oct. 24, the company will host a daylong event that will include a Backhoe Rodeo, where experienced equipment operators from different companies will compete for prizes by using a backhoe to manipulate objects like eggs and basketballs with precision and dexterity.
"Covering 25,000 square feet, the Rush Equipment Center in Troy is our second-largest facility in Michigan, and includes a 17,000-square-foot indoor shop area that will allow us to meet the expectations of our customers for fast and reliable service," said Tim Ham, inventory and marketing manager for Rush Enterprises. "Also, we anticipate a lively competition among several of our customers in our Backhoe Rodeo to see who has the skills to be named champion backhoe operator on October 24."
The Troy dealership replaces a smaller, 15,000-sq.-ft. facility in Sterling Heights, east of Detroit, which was closed in June. Rush Enterprises also operates three other Michigan construction equipment dealerships in Grand Rapids, Traverse City and Ellsworth, offering new and used equipment sales, service and parts, primarily for John Deere heavy construction equipment.
Rush Enterprises operates the largest network of Peterbilt heavy-duty truck dealerships in North America and John Deere construction equipment dealerships in Texas and Michigan. Its current operations include a network of dealerships located in Texas, California, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Colorado, Arizona, New Mexico and Michigan. These dealerships provide an integrated, one-stop source for the retail sale of new and used heavy-duty trucks and construction equipment; aftermarket parts, service and body shop facilities; and a wide array of financial services, including the financing of truck and equipment sales, insurance products and leasing and rentals. The company also operates retail farm and ranch superstores that serve the greater San Antonio, Houston and Dallas/Fort Worth, TX, areas.
