Schlouch Incorporated (SI) is the owner of “big iron” that will soon be seen on site development projects throughout Berks County, PA, and the Lehigh Valley.

Working with Cat dealer Ransome CAT, of Bensalem, PA, SI took delivery of two Cat 627G wheel tractor scrapers. These are the first new scrapers purchased by SI.

To celebrate this event, SI hosted a number of Ransome CAT employees at its Blandon, PA, headquarters for a photo shoot and thanked Ransome CAT for its commitment to SI.

The scraper delivery marked the culmination of negotiations that started in October 2005. At that time, Schlouch was looking at its total equipment fleet and considering a number of options.

Working with a team of sales and product support personnel of Ransome Cat, SI purchased the two new scrapers, trading in older models and rebuilding the powertrain on a Ransome CAT dozer.

“Both companies [SI and Ransome CAT are growing together and the strong relationship has helped,” said Rich King of SI.

“These are very exciting times at SI; these are the first new scrapers we have ever purchased and they show how far we have come,” said Barry Schlouch of SI.

“We have fully embraced this relationship and feel that both organizations have reaped benefits as a result of the close contact that exists between G & R (Ransome CAT) and SI,” said Wendell Wigley of Ransome CAT sales.

The 627Gs will go to work on residential and commercial site development projects throughout the Lehigh Valley, Chester and Montgomery counties. The machines feature a Cat C15 ACERT engine in the tractor producing 330 hp, a Cat C9 ACERT engine in the scraper producing 239 hp and has a heaped capacity of 22 cu. yd.
