After months of discussion, Atlantic Laser and Survey LLC (aka Atlantic Laser Systems) has joined the network of SITECH dealerships and will operate under the trade name of SITECH Mid-Atlantic LLC.

As a SITECH dealership, SITECH Mid-Atlantic is now part of the first fully dedicated global distribution network for the complete portfolio of construction technology systems for heavy and highway contractors.

“We had discussed joining forces,” said John Stellato, who co-founded Atlantic Laser and Survey with his wife, Vicky, in 1991. “We are going to be part of SITECH and they exclusively represent the Trimble machine positioning and technology products.

“This business has grown beyond the mom and pop, such as mine was,” he added. “I am really excited about this opportunity because we really did not have the capacity to offer the whole product portfolio to the customer base, and we didn't have the ability to support it. Now, we have taken [SITECH's] large capacity ability to have those products and add in our people that all have specific responsibilities with specific skills. We are going to be able to continue to provide all the products and services that we were providing to our customer base, but we are going to be able to expand upon that, because we have SITECH's resources, not only product, but also in people.”

All of Atlantic Laser and Survey's sales and service support people will be transitioning over with SITECH Mid-Atlantic, with Stellato heading up the technical sales side of things in the Virginia market.

Before the acquisition, SITECH Mid-Atlantic had three office locations: two in North Carolina and one in Charleston, S.C. The acquisition of Atlantic Laser and Survey expands SITECH's exposure and capacity to include Virginia with two locations: one in the Hampton Roads area in the city of Chesapeake, the second servicing the greater Richmond and points west area from a facility in Ashland, Va.

With an expanded portfolio of construction technology solutions, the company will advise contractors in Virginia on the right technology for the job, along with providing the local customer service, personalized training and technical support that contractors in Virginia are familiar with.

“We are looking to increase their exposure, increase their capacity, to provide precision construction technology products and to be able to support those on an ongoing basis,” Stellato said. “We have 20-plus years of experience in that business, but on a smaller scale. We have the critical skill set to provide those products to the end-users and support those products.”

SITECH dealerships represent Trimble for entire fleets of heavy equipment, as well as Trimble's complete portfolio of Connected Site solutions — site positioning systems, construction asset management services, software and powerful wireless and Internet-based infrastructures.

As authorized representatives of Trimble site-wide solutions, the SITECH Mid-Atlantic team understands how to apply innovative construction technology to effectively solve the biggest construction challenges and will guide users in leveraging the complete portfolio of construction technology solutions, including:

  • Full portfolio of Trimble grade control systems and Cat AccuGrade machine control systems designed for contractors' entire fleet of heavy equipment, regardless of machine make, type or model;
  • Trimble site positioning systems that allow contractors to perform a range of site measurement tasks and reduce downtime by quickly resolving problems on site;
  • Management of jobsite progress with Trimble's site supervisor system designed for supervisors coordinating activities, especially on the stake-less job site;
  • Comprehensive data management with Trimble Construction Software for streamlined workflows between field and office in real-time; and
  • Real-time equipment and assets status with Trimble Construction Manager allowing contractors to track and manage the status of each piece of equipment on the job site — live, in the office.
  • Through the adoption of Trimble construction technology, contractors can experience new levels of productivity that enable them to earn the bid and be profitable, project after project, according to the company.
