At Stephenson Equipment Inc.'s (SEI) Harrisburg, Pa., training location you will find several cranes set-up and ready for hands-on training and the administering of CCO practical exams. The newest to join the training facility is a Potain Igo MA-21 tower crane dedicated solely for training and testing purposes.

We have training facilities at our four locations across Pennsylvania, in fact the classroom facility at our Prospect Park location in Philadelphia just went through a new remodel, giving trainees a new modern and comfortable facility to learn in.”

Committed to Training and Safety

With locations across Pennsylvania, Stephenson offers many options for class dates and locations for training and testing. Additionally, upon request, it can provide onsite classes at a customer's location, using the customer's cranes for operator training classes. Stephenson has several full-time certified instructors who have many years of experience in the industry, but training is not the only area focused on by Stephenson. Safety and inspection is another part of the complete lifting solutions package they deliver to the region. To do this Stephenson employs a staff of full-time crane inspectors who are certified to perform OSHA and ANSI inspections.

This Is What Separates an SEI Inspection From Others

SEI's full-time staff of certified inspectors are fully insured with not only general liability insurance but also professional liability insurance. This insurance, generally called “errors and omissions” insurance is very expensive and most other crane inspectors do not carry this insurance, according to the company.

Both the crane and the carrier are inspected with SEI. The boom truck, truck crane or all terrain crane will be fully compliant to state and federal regulations. The crane will be OSHA certified and the carrier will be certified to meet Federal Motor Carrier Safety Association regulations.

Thorough inspection reports are provided after an SEI inspection. You will have two comprehensive inspection reports itemizing every checkpoint on the crane and carrier inspected. Any required actions are clearly marked and photos of the deficiencies provided.

SEI's inspectors are certified by the NCCCO and are continually trained in both crane and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Association inspection regulations.
