Stacie Prest (R) talks with Damian Florian (L) and B J Sotko of 84 lumber about their thoughts on the JCB event, and the JCB machines that they demo’d. BBQ was provided by West Pittston’s own Barry’s B3Q Smokehouse and enjoyed by all in attendance. SEI’s Wilkes-Barre, Pa., branch manager Dave Donati (R) goes over the JCB operator skills challenge with Alex Ramer of Penn Township before he starts. The JCB event truck seen in the background was on hand for the event. JCBs were available to operate by all who attended the event in Pittston Township near Stephenson Equipment’s Wilkes-Barre, Pa., location.

“Every time I get an invitation to attend a demo day, or any event put on by Stephenson Equipment, I make the time on my calendar. They are always well worth it” was just one of the positive comments from attendees at the JCB Demo Day held Oct. 4 at the Northeast Fairgrounds in Pittston Twp., Pa., just outside Wilkes-Barre, Pa. The event featured many opportunities for those in attendance to get into the JCB machines and see first hand how well these machines operate. Alex Ramer of Penn Township got into a JCB mini-excavator for the first time and put his operator skills to the test in a contest Stephenson had set-up for attendees. After Ramer had put all three balls in the bucket in only 26 seconds he said “The machine and its controls were surprisingly smooth. I have never been in a JCB, but I really like how comfortable it is.”

JCB representatives were on hand as well at the JCB event truck and when JCB shows up so do the dancing diggers.

Also available were piles of material for attendees to feel the power and maneuverability of JCBs while in a more realistic situation. A few of the compact machines that were there in-use like the JCB 407 compact wheel loader, and a JCB 260T compact track loader are featured in a new snow removal 1,000 hour a year lease program offered by JCB where a customer would only pay $50 a month from April to October.

The backhoes are always where a lot of attendees gather and Stephenson keeps hands-on learning and education at the core of its events.
