Recently Caterpillar provided a Cat 247 multi-terrain track loader to Land Improvement Contractors of America (LICA) for its annual raffle. The winning raffle ticket was won by Joanie Hey, wife of Doug Hey of Hey’s Enterprises Inc.
The drawing was held at LICA’s annual convention, held in Oklahoma City in February 2003. Joanie and Doug, president of Hey’s Enterprises, were in attendance at the convention when the winning ticket was drawn.
Doug Hey is a site contractor in Canandaigua, NY, and long has been an active member of LICA. Doug is a past president of the organization’s New York chapter, and also was LICA’s national president in 1995.
Hey’s Enterprises has been a member of the organization for more than 20 years. Hey also is a past recipient of its New York Chapter Contractor of the Year award, as well as of LICA’s Distinguished Service Award.
The Cat 247 multi-terrain loader was prepped and delivered by Syracuse Supply. The machine was presented to the Heys by Jeff Linsner, sales representative for Syracuse Supply and Steve Schiff, light equipment sales representative for Syracuse Supply.
Joanie Hey said she was “extremely excited” to win the machine.
The Cat 247 multi-terrain loader, with its suspended rubber track undercarriage and many work tool options, is a highly versatile, compact machine for use in construction, landscaping, agricultural and other applications. It is designed to deliver traditional Cat reliability and durability with enhanced productivity even in rough working conditions.
LICA’s membership is made up of contractors providing a wide range of services including grading, excavating, drainage, landscaping, paving, wetland development and site preparation.
