Truck Bodies and Equipment International (TBEI) Inc., a truck body equipment manufacturer, has consolidated its Fulton, N.Y., operations, which manufacture a number of Crysteel and Rugby brand products, into the Lake Crystal, Minn., and Tishomingo, Miss., facilities.

Improvements in productivity and capital investments have enabled TBEI to close the Fulton plant while moving its production to other TBEI facilities. This, coupled with planned expansion into the Northeast, West and Midwest via customer support centers, will allow TBEI to better serve all markets, according to the company.

These centers will focus on parts, accessories and localized services matched to the specific needs of each of these markets.

TBEI has recently realigned its commercial team and is strengthening the focus on precision and performance in that functional area.

“We are leveraging the significant operating improvements we have made to better utilize core manufacturing facilities, and we will be attacking underserved markets like the Northeast and West with new facilities tailored to the specific needs of those markets. We have made large investments in our facilities over the past year, which have yielded 25 to 30 percent performance improvements in focused areas of these facilities,” said Dale Pilger, CEO of TBEI, “While this is just scratching the surface of our potential, we are on an exhilarating path with great opportunity to improve stakeholder value and overall customer service and satisfaction.”

Brands sold under the TBEI name include Ox, Heil by TBEI, Rugby, Crysteel, J-Craft and Hardee. TBEI is headquartered in Eden Prairie, Minn., with manufacturing and distribution facilities across the United States.
