The 883 reclaimer from Terex Finlay is engineered for fast setup, high mobility and long service life in high-volume sand/gravel, topsoil, coal, crushed stone, compost and recycling applications, according to the manufacturer.

The plant design features a super heavy duty screen with a 16- by 5-ft. (4.8 by 1.5 m) top deck and a 12- by 5-ft. (3.6 by 1.5 m) bottom deck with hydraulic drive, heavy-duty bearings and a 6.54-cu.-yd. (5 cu m) hopper.

Screen meshes are side-tensioned on the top deck and end-tensioned on the bottom deck and the horizontal, wide-mouth apron feeder has a Hardox steel pan with hydraulic variable speed chain drive through high-torque gearbox.

An oversize conveyor has twin-motor hydraulic drive, a 48-in.-wide (122 cm) 3-ply belt with impact bars at the feed-in point, and adjusts 20 to 24 degrees.

The middle-grade conveyor has a 32-in. (81 cm) Chevron belt and thumper roller and the fines conveyor has a 32-in. plain belt and Rosta scraper on the head drum. All conveyors have variable speed and hydraulic fold.

The power unit is a water-cooled Deutz BF4M2010 100-hp (74.54 kW) diesel engine. Central controls operate the conveyors and grid/screen and there is a separate control for engine start/stop and speed. A standard dog-lead or optional radio remote controls the tracks. Other options include cascade tynes, a magnet on the oversize conveyor, and a wheeled undercarriage with full braking and a kingpin for towing.
