Construction Equipment Guide

Efficiently tackling a variety of applications from processing municipal solid waste to sorting construction and demolition (C&D) debris to loading and unloading scrap metals, the Terex Fuchs MHL350 D material handler delivers a standard maximum reach of 52 ft. (16 m) with an operating weight of up to 78,226 lb. (35,483 kg). Repositioning the operator’s console to provide additional leg room and enhanced visibility, the MHL350 D features a cab design with increased operator comfort and efficiency, according to the manufacturer.

A multi-function button delivers quick and efficient navigation through the high resolution color display monitor. Similar to how a mouse works with a computer, the multi-function button allows the operator to easily transition through different functions, display machine operating data and activate or deactivate functions and equipment. The large console affords easy viewing of critical operating data, while the push-button control panel keypad with LED indicators enables quick activation/deactivation of machine functions. For servicing ease, the panel displays inputs/outputs for handler components and offers diagnostic tools for troubleshooting.

Ergonomic dual joystick controls are configured specifically for material handling operations, improving efficiency and productivity. Fingertip-control buttons are conveniently grouped on both left- and right-hand joysticks. The left controls horn, turn signal, magnet and slewing brake functions, while the right incorporates grapple slewing and pressure boost functions into the joystick. Increasing machine flexibility, the right-hand joystick can be expanded to control optional functions, such as a clean-up blade, depending on individual job site requirements.

The Terex Fuchs “D” Series features a wide undercarriage, large outriggers and sturdy stabilizer beams for optimized lifting capacities. The purpose-built MHL350 D is designed for productivity in material handling applications, achieving fast working cycles and precise, smooth motion. The optimized loading equipment kinematics deliver enhanced lifting capacities across the machine’s entire operating range, while offering reliable performance even under demanding circumstances, according to the manufacturer.

The double row slewing ring found on the “D” Series handlers enhances machine durability and slew ring reliability. Optimizing machine uptime, inverted mounting of boom cylinders minimizes cylinder exposure to debris and moisture. Solid anti-corrosive hydraulic piping mounted on the boom and stick reduces the potential for wear and tear and hydraulic hose damage.

In addition to its standard 52 ft. (16 m) reach, the Terex Fuchs MHL350 D material handler also offers optional 49 ft. (15 m) or 46 ft. (14 m) reach configurations, so the machine can be specifically equipped for a variety of applications and operating conditions.
