On May 10, Bob Thompson joined South Carolina-based Van Lott Inc. as general sales manager.

Bringing with him more than 30 years of heavy equipment experience, Thompson, along with the rest of the Van Lott staff, plans to add more services for customers to ensure their “competitiveness and profitability.

“We are seeing major changes in our industry and in the demands from our customers,” Thompson said. “Van Lott Inc. will continue to expand our inventories and product support, while increasing the size of our rental fleet.”

Thompson also noted he anticipates the company will add personnel in key areas to increase Van Lott’s “exposure with customers and the industry.

“Our ultimate goal is to satisfy our customers with knowledgeable employees who appreciate that they are contributing to our customers’ successes as well as that of Van Lott,” he said.

Thompson’s most recent position was with LB Smith as regional vice president for Virginia and North and South Carolina. Over the course of his career, he has received a number of awards and recognition for his work in product support and equipment sales and credits this to the “hard work and dedication of employees” working with him.
