Thompson Machinery, the authorized regional dealer of Caterpillar, was recently recognized for dealer excellence in social responsibility for its “Building Tomorrow” community campaign. The award was recently presented to Thompson at the annual Caterpillar North American Dealer Marketing Association conference in Washington, D.C.
Thompson Machinery and its affiliated companies partnered with Caterpillar Financial Services Corporation, which like Thompson is headquartered in Nashville, in a year-long community project with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Nashville called “Building Tomorrow.” The goal of the campaign was to increase awareness of Habitat’s mission and home ownership program, through involvement by Thompson Machinery and Caterpillar Financial employees.
Campaign activities included fund-raising opportunities through a silent auction and a special Web site, which included incentives for Thompson customers to win free use of a Caterpillar machine. Thompson and Caterpillar Financial employees helped raise more than $20,000 for the construction of the partner family’s new home.
Caterpillar presents North American Dealer Marketing Awards annually to give recognition to Cat dealer marketing teams who demonstrate elite performance in the development and execution of marketing initiatives that support business goal achievement. The “Excellence in Social Responsibility” award is given to the dealer which most positively impacts its local community as a result of a marketing initiative sponsored or co-sponsored by the dealership.
“I’m very excited that Thompson Machinery has been recognized as the number one Cat dealer for Excellence in Social Responsibility, said Daniel Clark, director of marketing, Thompson Machinery. It’s an honor for Thompson to be acknowledged for the impact we’ve made within our community and the lives we’ve helped to change with our partners, Caterpillar Financial and Habitat for Humanity.
“Giving back to the community, which helps to provide opportunity for our company and its employees is a critical component of our goal of being ’The best Cat dealer, period.’ We depend on each other to continuously improve our surroundings and quality of life, and strengthening our community helps to ensure a better future for our children.”
