Tom Shepherd, 65, Owner, President of Shepherd Machinery, Dies

L. Tom Shepherd, 65, of Winchester, passed away Feb. 9, at Clark Regional Medical Center in the emergency room.

He had just attended the annual Florida auctions in Kissimmee and was involved in a motor vehicle accident.

Tom, a native of Clark County, Ky., was the husband of Doris King Shepherd and the son of the late Leslie T. and Virginia Woodford Shepherd.

He was president and owner of Shepherd Machinery in Lexington, Ky., a member of Central Baptist Church and a 1965 graduate of Morehead State University.

“Tom was truly one of my best friends and father figure to my family,” said Trent Shaftner, who had known Tom for the past 20 years and had worked side-by-side with him for 14 years. “Tom had all the qualities that measure a man to his fullest description. He will be greatly missed not only by friends and family, but by this industry.”
