Tracey Road Equipment held its annual Open House Oct. 4 in East Syracuse, N.Y.

Turnout was high as area contractors and their families, highway superintendents and public works commissioners, as well as their crews, manufacturer representatives, and even state and local politicians, descended on the company’s headquarters for some fun, food, training sessions, equipment demos and more.

With the help of several manufacturer representatives, Tracey Road Equipment showcased its diverse and extensive product lines. Guests had the opportunity to test drive new Western Star and Freightliner products, participate in mock DOT inspection training and attend a presentation on natural gas truck engines.

A skid steer rodeo allowed contestants to exhibit their operating expertise. Chris Howlett of C.D. Howlett Excavating took first place, earning him a 51-in. flat-screen plasma TV; Dan Courtney of the town of Hartford and Jeff Taylor of the town of Manlius took second and third place, respectively.

Mike Rioux was the lucky winner of four 50-yd. line tickets for the Oct. 21 game between Buffalo Bills and Tennessee Titans. This was an exclusive raffle to pre-registered attendees who signed up via Tracey Road Equipment’s Facebook page (www.facebook.com/TraceyRoad) and its Web site (http://traceyroad.com).

A barbecue kept guests well fed and a DJ, as well as a live band, “Just Joe,” provided the musical backdrop.
