On Sept. 15, 2011 the Underground Contractors Association of IL recognized women’s contributions to the construction industry at its annual dinner meeting at Venuti’s in Itasca with a special presentation by Loretta Rosenmayer, CEO of INTREN Inc. (formerly Trench-It, Inc.).
Rosenmayer spoke to the guests about her rough path to success. INTREN Inc. has evolved into a premier regional provider of electric, gas and telecommunication services for midwest utilities, municipalities, developers and contractors. A small trenching company that began with just four employees is now 400 strong. INTREN has been a member of UCA for more than 10 years.
At the meeting, UCA also announced three new board members including Nick Neri (John Neri Construction Co. Inc.), Michael Stark (Stark & Son Trenching Inc.), and John McGovern (OSCO Oil Inc.) and said farewell to Steve Benck (West Side Tractor Sales) who completed his two year board term.
On Oct. 19, UCA will host a Sustainable Water Supply Challenges & Solutions Seminar and Demonstration at the Chicagoland Laborers’ Training Center in Carol Stream. The seminar will focus on various water main distribution systems, supply challenges and loss solutions for public water mains and include information on recent EPA changes, municipal water delivery regulations and case studies.
UCA, established in 1957, is a not-for-profit trade association of contractors and suppliers in sewer, water, utility and underground industries throughout Illinois. It is active in market development, information, education, labor, and the promotion of safety.
