Used Boring Machines For Sale

Sometimes known as moles, Boring Machines are used as an alternative to drilling and blasting or other hand mining methods. Tunnel boring machines can be used to excavate tunnels through anything from hard rock to sand, and have been used on major projects, including the Alaskan Way Viaduct in Seattle’s machine named “Bertha”. Tech entrepreneur Elon Musk has envisioned using a tunnel boring machine to build an underground hyperloop between Baltimore and Washington, D.C. The first boring machine was reportedly built in the 1800s and consisted of a series of drills mounted on a large machine. Modern versions consists of a rotating cutting wheel, a bearing, a thrust system and trailing support systems.
