Rep. Pat Meehan, Pa. 7th District, visited Stephenson Equipment’s Prospect Park, Pa., facility Aug. 6.
The congressman toured the Stephenson Equipment facility, taking time also to speak with employees.
“SEI [Stephenson Equipment Inc.] was honored to visit with Congressman Pat Meehan,” said Dennis Heller, president and CEO of Stephenson Equipment. “The Congressman from the 7th District was obviously taking his congressional recess time to visit with business owners in the state. Rep. Meehan gave us optimism for the direction Congress is trying to take as he discussed jobs, tax reform, infrastructure and the national debt.
“I personally appreciated Congressman Pat Meehan’s sincere interest in our opinion on the challenges facing small business owners,” Heller continued. “He understands the ramifications of higher taxes, the lack of confidence in the current economy and that long-term decisions cannot be made with short-term vision. It gives us hope knowing that a Congressman like Pat Meehan is working toward solutions, not only regionally but nationally.”
Rep. Meehan was likewise enthusiastic about his visit to Stephenson Equipment.
“I appreciated the opportunity to tour Stephenson Equipment’s Prospect Park facility to learn more about the work that they do and meet its fine employees,” said Rep. Meehan. “It’s businesses like Stephenson’s that will be affected by the tax increase slated to take place in January. The uncertainty in our tax code is really hurting small businesses and Congress needs to act to ensure we don’t raise taxes on small businesses, the backbone of our economy.” CEG
