SALT LAKE CITY (AP) Here’s a reason for commuters to celebrate: A series of construction projects along Interstate 80 between Salt Lake City and the Wyoming border is finally done.

The Utah Department of Transportation on Nov. 12 marked completion of 12 projects that together were called Innovate 80.

It was an intensive series of projects on one of Utah’s busiest corridors that included bridge replacements, road widening and repaving during 2008 and 2009.

State officials were particularly pleased with replacement of 12 bridges over the course of six weeks last year and four more within a month this year. Two bridges were replaced in less than seven hours.
