Volvo Construction Equipment Rents Inc. (Volvo CE Rents), has announced the signing of a franchise agreement for Volvo equipment rental centers in Houston, TX.

Post Rentals of Texas LLC (Post Rentals) in Houston, has entered into a Volvo CE Rents franchise agreement to own and operate Volvo CE Rents centers in the Houston metropolitan area.

Peter A. Post, principal owner of Post Rentals, is the former president and COO of Prime Equipment, a rental company that was sold to Atlas Copco in 2000.

“There are three major benefits attached to being an owner of a Volvo CE Rents franchise — the strength of the Volvo name, the comprehensive systems and operating support the company offers its franchises, and Volvo’s financial strength,” said Post.

“We intend to combine these advantages in a full-service rental operation that will ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction provided by the highly-qualified staff we will bring into our organization, people with tremendous experience and trusted expertise in the equipment rental business.

“The equipment rental franchise model developed by Volvo CE Rents is unique in our industry and should prove to be extremely successful for those of us who wish to have our own personal business,” Post added.

All Volvo CE Rents centers are independently owned and operated franchises within the Volvo Construction Equipment rental program. The new Houston rental centers will carry, in addition to Volvo construction equipment, a line of equipment and tools for the construction, commercial, industrial and homeowner markets.

Principal Volvo products for its franchised rental centers include the company’s line of compact excavators and wheel loaders, and the backhoe and skid steer loaders.

The Volvo CE Rents program covers all aspects of an operating rental business model and was designed and developed by Volvo Construction Equipment Rents Inc.

Program features include use of the Volvo brand, financial assistance, a fleet purchasing program for non-Volvo products, a Volvo CE Rents software program, training, facility design and regional and local marketing.

Volvo CE Rents began its equipment rental franchise initiative in 2001. It has rental centers open in Virginia, North Carolina, Georgia, Florida, California, Tennessee, Ohio, South Carolina, Louisiana, New York, Minnesota, Arkansas, New Jersey, Alabama, Kentucky, Illinois, New Mexico, Washington, Pennsylvania — and, now Texas.

According to the company, additional rental centers will open within the next few months in three major Mississippi markets. Volvo also has franchise agreements signed with other North America business interests seeking independently owned and operated franchise opportunities in the equipment rental business.
