Increasing its overall expansion efforts and to service customers in Atlanta even better, Volvo Rents-Atlanta has announced the opening of a second metro Atlanta rental center.

The 6,000-sq.-ft. facility is located in the Northwest Atlanta suburb of Kennesaw at 2396 Cobb Parkway (Hwy. 41N), just south of McCollum Parkway/Chastian Road. The first location of Volvo Rents-Atlanta opened in Alpharetta in February of this year and the company plans to open a third location in January ’03.

In addition to rentals of Volvo products, the company represents more than 35 additional manufacturer’s lines of equipment for rent.

Heading up the rental sales efforts at the new Kennesaw location is Regional Manager Tim Smith, who brings more than 20 years of rental experience in the Atlanta market with national rental companies. Assisting with these efforts is Assistant Manager Terri Underhill, who has more than five years of experience in the rental industry.

Company President Reggie Holderfield has more than 38 years of experience in the construction equipment industry and formerly owned Great Southern Equipment. He is based out of the company’s corporate office and service center located just a block from the Alpharetta rental center.

The Kennesaw location provides both in house service and field service for its rental fleet. The company as a whole employs more than 30 people.

According to Holderfield, “We have exceeded our goals by about 70 percent since opening this location on September 9. This is still a relationship business and our company is strengthened by local ownership. A total team effort drives our business and I feel our customers will ultimately benefit from our non competing branch network.”

Holderfield added that he feels that he has the best of both worlds. As an independent he has the ability to make in house decisions and address any needs immediately, while enjoying the stability of being backed by Volvo. Holderfield noted, “Volvo is one of the most stable companies in the world and is a tremendous force that empowers us.”
