Many Deere dealers across the country are in the midst of hosting John Deere excavator (DEX) demonstrations, including Warrior Tractor & Equipment based in Tuscaloosa, Ala.

Huntsville, Ala., was the most recent demo location with the event being combined with an open house. The Sept. 10 event drew a crowd of approximately 300 who came out for the demo, the open house, to visit with over 20 vendors, browse some machine displays and enjoy a great BBQ lunch catered by a regional favorite, Jim-N-Nicks BBQ.

The new P series hydraulic [excavators](https://www.constructionequipmentguide.com/used-excavators-for-sale/), which are the new DEX machines introduced at ConExpo in Las Vegas, were available for demonstration with assistance from excavator specialists and [John Deere](https://www.constructionequipmentguide.com/john-deere-equipment-for-sale/) Certified Dealer instructors.

This machine is a ground-up redesign and delivers significantly more power, deeper digging capabilities, faster cycle times and many other factory-integrated precision technology features. This is the next generation of machines that are 100 percent designed, engineered and manufactured by John Deere.

John Deere customer, Mitch Mitchell of MLMD Sitework, Muscle Shoals, Aa., had some demo time on the new DEX excavators and stated that the comfort level was great, both in machine response and cab feel. High marks were given for the visibility and specifically the screen where you can see SmartGrade functions much better than before.
