Whayne Supply held the official ground breaking ceremony for its new Bowling Green, Ky., branch on Dec. 19. The event took place at the new site at 390 High Rail Way in Bowling Green.

The new facility will sit on 20 acres and have more than 65,000 sq. ft. under roof. Employment will increase from the current 45 to 60 full-time. This new branch will replace the current facility at 651 US Highway 31W. bypass.

“This is quite an expansion,” Brian Cambron, vice president and branch operations manager of Bowling Green, said. “When the original Bowling Green branch opened in 1954 it was surrounded by cornfields and was a little over a mile from downtown. Now we are surrounded by an ever-expanding city and have no room for much needed expansion. The new location will give us room to grow and meet the demands of the customers we serve.”

Completion is scheduled for July of this year.

Whayne Supply Company is the dealer for Caterpillar Inc., Reedrill, Trail King, Thomas Built Buses, Challenger, Lexion, Sullair, Allmand and other lines of construction, industrial, mining and agricultural equipment.

In addition to its home office in Louisville, Whayne has branches in Ashland, Bowling Green, Corbin, Dry Ridge, Hazard, Lexington, Paducah and Pikeville, Ky., and Evansville, Ind.
