PulseTech Products Corporation has introduced Xtreme Charge, the first true Next Generation 12-volt battery charger that provides users with an advanced charging and maintenance system.

“Our goal with the Xtreme Charge product family is to commercialize many years of R&D for the U.S. Military into a unique product that addresses many of the feature and usage challenges facing both battery distributors and end users,” said Pete Smith, president of PulseTech Products Corporation.

Since 1994, PulseTech Products Corporation has earned an international reputation for maximizing battery performance while minimizing battery-related expenses for individuals, companies, fleets and military forces.

Smith said tens of thousands of batteries are needlessly replaced annually due to a lack of proper charging and maintenance.

“Finally with Xtreme Charge, the consumer has a battery charger that will charge any 12-volt lead acid battery, safely and simply, and through the application of our patented Pulse Technology will increase average battery life by 2 to 5 times,” he said.

Because of a charge algorithm built into Xtreme Charge, coupled with advanced battery evaluation capabilities, users do not need to identify battery type or chemistry, select and set specific charge criteria prior to charging or worry about charging in an improper or potentially unsafe manner.

“The idea was to make a charger so simple to use — that it actually does get used regularly. You don’t even have to turn it on, just connect it to the battery, plug it in and your battery is charging” added Smith.

Product highlights include a simple “plug and leave it” technology:

• Intelligent testing and evaluation circuitry featuring 12 LED status indicators.

• A proprietary computer-integrated system to determine and deliver the appropriate amount of charge from .1A to 2.5A depending on the condition of the battery by evaluating both voltage and amperage simultaneously.

• Pulse technology to minimize the size of sulfation buildup on battery plates — the reason why 80 percent of all batteries die.

Pulse Technology improves a battery’s ability to accept and store energy, thus extending battery life. In addition, Pulse Technology employed through Xtreme Charge also prevents the sulfate-induced corrosion that is the primary cause of shedding active material.

Outdoor UL approved, Xtreme Charge works with all types and sizes of 12-volt lead-acid batteries including flooded, fill and charge, Gel, AGM and Maintenance Free (from less than 10 Ah to more than 150 Ah).

Xtreme Charge includes a charger with fuse-protected quick-disconnect battery clamps and lugs, safety instructions and a quick-start guide. It comes with a five-year warranty.
