Yancey Bros. Co. and Sitech South held a Technology Day event Sept. 13, 2018, at Yancey's new Yancey Rents - CAT Rental Store in Austell, Ga.

Representatives from Yancey Bros. Co., Yancey Rents, Caterpillar and Sitech South showcased their newest products and services. Customers looking for more in-depth information on the “latest and greatest” in advanced construction technology products and services turned out the see the newest from Caterpillar and Sitech.

The new generation Caterpillar excavators (Cat 320 GC, 320, 323) were front and center during the event and Yancey and Caterpillar product trainers were on hand to provide complete demos and walk-arounds of these machines.

The new trio of machines are 20-ton class size excavators with state-of-the-art technology to provide owners and operators with a broader range of choices for increased efficiency and lower operating costs.

To ensure that customers throughout Georgia have access to this demonstration and training experience, Yancey Bros. Co. and Sitech South will hold four additional Technology Day events before the end of the year.

The stars of the show … the next generation Cat excavators.  

Guests relax and unwind with their Yancey and Sitech representatives over a barbeque lunch.  

Yancey and Cat representatives were available to fully assist and provide comprehensive information during all product demonstrations.  

Attendees were lined up and waiting to get their opportunity to operate the various next generation Cat excavators at the technology event.  

Discussing the new Cat 320 excavator are Cameron Collins (in cab) and Eric Collins of Collins Site Services, which is an earthmoving contractors, based in Senoia, Ga.  

The Sitech South display area was loaded with the latest Trimble products and services for any advanced construction technology need.  

Mike Kable (L) and Sean Courtney (R) of Yancey Bros. talk with Rob Stone of Site Engineering, Atlanta, Ga., about the hardware behind the Cat VisionLink system, which functions similarly to a “black box” in an airplane.  

Yancey demonstration operator Matthew Hyde (L) goes over the operation of the Next-Gen Cat excavator with Dru Goodwin (C) and Trevor Bishop of McCoy Grading, Greenville, Ga.  

Caleb Asher (L) and Paul Asher (in cab) of Dekalb Pipeline, Conyers, Ga., have a Q & A session on the new excavators with Caterpillar’s Andrew Cardinal.  

Operating the new Cat D5K2 LGP dozer for the first time, Chad Lanier of Summit Grading Services, Cartersville, Ga., was impressed with the simplicity of the Grade Control system on the machine, which virtually did the work for him.  

Sitech South had its complete Trimble technology box blade system out for demonstration. This system also can be used on a six-way blade for skid steer and compact track loaders.  

Guests grab a bit of shade under the Yancey Rents display tent in between test operation of some of the machines being showcased.  

The all-new Cat CUV102D 4x4 utility vehicle was on display during the event and is now available for rent through the Yancey Rents locations.
