$675k in Stolen Construction Equipment Recovered

Texas ABC TV Affiliate WFAA8 is reporting that Collin County investigators have arrested a man in connection with the theft of $675,000 worth of construction equipment.

The North Texas Auto Theft Task Force recovered 14 pieces of stolen construction equipment after serving a search warrant at a location on West Grove Street in Pilot Point, TX.

Among the stolen equipment were two excavators, a backhoe, two large gooseneck trailers and a Dodge truck.

Hector Castorena was arrested on a theft charge and was being held in the Denton County Jail on $10,000 bond Wednesday.

Police said a tip came in when a man was attempting to purchase a piece of the equipment and called police to run a vehicle identification number. The equipment came back stolen.
