The Keystone Chapter, Associated Builders & Contractors Inc. (ABC), will hold a live Construction Rodeo on Sunday, Sept. 25, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Trades people will pick up eggs with a backhoe, drive a skid steer through an obstacle course, put a basketball in a bucket with an excavator, compete in tug-of-war competitions and more.
Kids can participate in a coloring contest, bounce through an inflatable obstacle course, have their faces painted, drive a remote-control skid steer, compete in a peg driving competition, Lego bridge building, hang out with clowns and more.
Junior and senior high school students are encouraged to try their hands at a construction obstacle course for prizes.
There will be a men’s and women’s nail driving competition, with the winner taking home a prize. There will be a full concession stand, and a chance to win door prizes.
Admission and parking are free.
Proceeds benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation, which helps terminally-ill children realize their dreams, and the Merit Shop Scholarship Fund, which assists individuals seeking to further their education and careers in construction.
Since founding a community outreach event in 1987, ABC has raised more than $275,000 and hopes to increase that by $15,000 with this year’s Construction Rodeo.
