Southeast Pennsylvania Chapter Associated Builders and Contractors Inc. (ABC), named Steve Stoughton as chairman of the board effective Jan. 1, 2010. Stoughton is a construction executive with Worth & Company Inc., a mechanical contractor in Pipersville, Pa. He will serve as the 2010 chairman and will be responsible for all chapter activities.
As part of the Worth business development team, Stoughton is responsible for establishing and maintaining business relationships. Worth has been an active member of ABC for more than 20 years and has been named one of the Best Places to Work in PA for eight years running.
Stoughton also is very active in his community. In 2008, he managed a team of ABC members and non-members remodeling the Kulp family home in Ft. Washington, Pa. The Kulp’s two young sons were diagnosed with muscular dystrophy. As a result of the remodel, the Kulp family home is now handicap accessible and has a much needed addition, due in part to Stoughton’s ability to save the family more than $100,000 in supplies and labor costs
“As chairman for 2010, my goal is to see the chapter and its members’ businesses grow through one of the most strenuous economic periods in recent history,” said Stoughton. ”We will build on our strengths as the only association in the country serving the needs of merit contractors. Additionally, we will further expand our business development efforts to guide our members through these rough economic times.”
