IAAP members took back to their mines prestigious safety awards received during the Spring Thaw Safety Conference.

Beginning in 2000, the Illinois Department of Natural Resources, Office of Mines and Minerals began recognizing the safety efforts of state aggregate producers whose operations have achieved the fewest lost time accidents for the previous calendar year.

This year, the accident-free mine with the most employee-hours in each division was recognized at the Conference and given a plaque by Jim Hafliger, acting supervisor Mine Safety Education and Operations.
