DAYTON, Ohio (AP) The Air Force is asking Congress for $48 million in new construction projects at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base near Dayton.

Approximately $21 million is for renovation and new construction on a propulsion lab, which conducts research on power sources. Approximately $27 million would go toward an information technology complex for the Aeronautical Systems Center.

Both projects have been priorities for years but have been on hold because most military construction money has been spent implementing a base realignment and closure process.

The plans are part of the Air Force’s overall budget of $160 billion that President Barack Obama has sent to Congress.
