The Snow & Ice Management Association (SIMA) recently held its 16th Annual Snow & Ice Symposium in Minneapolis, Minn. The four-day event featured a trade show, speakers, educational sessions and networking events for professionals in the snow and ice industry. The 2013 Snow & Ice Industry Awards were presented during the Awards & Recognition Night on June 20, 2013.

The Snow & Ice Industry Awards & Recognition Night celebrated SIMA and the industry by presenting awards, honoring volunteers and more. Awards presented included: Excellence in Business, Employee of the Year, Volunteer of the Year, Alan Steiman Scholarship recipient, Snow Industry Commitment, Top Recruiter and Safety Awards. SIMA volunteers, staff, board and supporters also will be recognized.

Recipients of awards fill out applications or are nominated, and the winners are chosen by a panel of industry judges. 2012 Awards winners include:
