BCA Names 2014 Excellance in Construction Award Winners

The awards recognize the most outstanding construction projects within a 75-mi. radius of Fort Wayne, Ind., completed during 2013.

Building Contractors Association of Northeast Indiana (BCA) recently announced winners of the 2014 BCA Excellence in Construction Awards sponsored by Wells Fargo.

The awards recognize the most outstanding construction projects within a 75-mi. radius of Fort Wayne, Ind., completed during 2013. The winning projects were selected by an independent judging panel based on project uniqueness, significance/impact to the community where constructed, level of BCA-member involvement, and the project’s safety record.

2014 BCA Excellence in Construction Award winners:

• Renovation — Under $2 million: Science Central, Science on a Sphere; Fort Wayne, Ind. Submitted by Design Collaborative and Fetters Construction

• Renovation — Over $2 million: Edy’s, Employee Facilities Expansion, Fort Wayne, Ind. Submitted by MSKTD & Associates and The Hagerman Group

• New construction —Under $6 million: Jorgensen Family YMCA Outdoor Aquatic Center, Fort Wayne, Ind. Submitted by Michael Kinder & Sons Inc. and Moake Park Group

• New construction —Over $6 million: Indiana Tech Law School, Fort Wayne, Ind. Submitted by Michael Kinder & Sons Inc.

Awards were formally presented to the applicant and the owner/client representative at the recently held BCA Spring Membership Dinner & Awards Banquet. Nearly 175 construction and business professionals were in attendance.
