The Bergkamp Journeyman is a mobile mix plant engineered for Cold Central Plant Recycling (CCPR), producing ambient asphalt mixes from either virgin or recycled asphalt pavement (RAP). Its compact design allows for rapid setup and easy mobility, making it ideal for locations where in-place recycling or hot mix asphalt is not feasible. Manufactured in Salina, Kan., the Journeyman is Bergkamp's first equipment line dedicated to asphalt pavement recycling.

The plant can mix 100 percent RAP, 100 percent virgin aggregate or any blend in between, using water, asphalt emulsion binder and other materials for precise, high-quality mixes. Key features include a pugmill lowering system for easy maintenance, an asphalt flushing system for pump and line cleaning and the advanced EMCADS Pro control system, which automates mix formula adherence and provides performance, GPS and production data with remote diagnostics to minimize downtime.

Powered by a Tier IV/Stage V-compliant diesel engine, the Journeyman operates in remote areas without the need for external electrical power. Safety and operator-friendly features include hydraulic leveling jacks, dual asphalt and emulsion ports, low hopper heights, a ground-level operator station with remote control and an ergonomic catwalk. Operational capabilities include a 300 tons-per-hour production rate, large aggregate hopper, tandem axle with air ride suspension, hydraulic stabilizers and gravimetric control via a weigh belt.

By using RAP, the Journeyman helps conserve natural resources, reduce landfill use, lower greenhouse gas emissions and stretch budgets — aligning with both environmental and economic goals for organizations seeking practical, forward-thinking approaches to pavement maintenance and construction.
