Many aerial lifts were available for sale at the Ledyard, Conn., auction. Lynwood Perary of Preston, Conn., didn’t have to drive too far to attend Alex Lyon & Son’s auction in Ledyard, Conn. While he wasn’t planning on purchasing any equipment, nine-year old Marcus from Burrillville, R.I., certainly enjoyed climbing in the equipment, including this Hyster 200 forklift. Nathan Howell is now 13 years old, but said his father taught him how to operate equipment, including this 2007 Case 450 skid steer, when he was only five years old. Prospective bidders look over a new Atlas Copco QAX24 generator. Two bidders look over the engine of a 2000 Lull 644D-34 telescopic forklift before the auction began at 9:30 a.m. A bidder tests the 54 ft. (16.4 m) reach capacity on this 2001 Gradall 544D4S telescopic forklift. Three prospective equipment buyers bundle up in warm clothing for the chilly auction on Dec. 12. These hydraulic excavators were only a small portion of equipment for sale at the late model rental fleet construction, support equipment, aerial lifts, truck and trailer auction. Greg Tenedine of North Haven Construction in North Haven, Conn., was interested in the heavy equipment for sale at the auction. This John Deere 650G crawler tractor could be very useful at Harrison Griffin’s, Beaver Brook Farm, in Suffield, Conn. This bidder appears very interested in a Hobart welder for sale.

The rent-ready equipment came from several national rental fleets to make room for new purchases.
