After several days of incessant rain in the Northeast, Binder Machinery Company had some sunny news for its southern New Jersey customers when the company broke ground June 29 for a new facility on Route 73 in Winslow Township, NJ.

The new facility is slated for completion in late Spring 2007 and will replace the company’s current Voorhees, NJ, branch, which is 7.5 mi. north of where the new facility will be located.

“The building will be about as modern a facility as you can get in our industry today,” said Bob Binder, chairman of South Plainfield, NJ-based Binder Machinery Company. “The layout of the shop and office will be much more efficient in Winslow Township than what we currently have in Voorhees. There we have separate buildings for the office, parts and shop. In the new facility, everything will be under one roof.”

Binder Machinery’s new facility will be 33,330 sq. ft. and sit on 10 acres, which is approximately 8,000 sq. ft. larger than the Voorhees facility. Approximately 7,000 sq. ft. of the facility will be devoted to office space, with the balance housing parts warehouse and service. There will be eight service bays in the main shop and one each in the weld and track shop. The new facility also will feature a fully enclosed equipment washing and painting facility.

“We’re also adding a training room so that our in-house trainer can instruct in a classroom environment, which is something we don’t currently have in Voorhees,” said Alan Binder, vice president and general manager of parts. “Our company motto is ’The Product Support Company,’ and we feel that with this new facility we’ll be better able to support what we’re doing for our customers. We do a good job now, but this will make a good job even better.”

The company’s larger facility also will bring new job opportunities.

“We will definitely be expanding our service capabilities, which is the primary focus for this building. Product support is always foremost in our minds,” said Bob Binder.

“We want to express to our customers in South Jersey that we’re making a very substantial investment in the service area,” he continued. “We believe this is a good, long-term market, certainly one that Binder Machinery Company is committed to. We have been down there for 25 years, and we’re looking forward to a good future, which is why we’re investing so heavily.

Binder Machinery’s product lineup will remain the same as it has been in both South Plainfield and Voorhees. The company carries Komatsu, Sennebogen, Ingersoll Rand paving and compaction equipment, Metso crushing and screening, Tadano and Kobelco cranes, Stanley LaBounty hydraulic hammers and compactors, ESCO buckets, Paladin attachments and Geith couplers.
