Butler Machinery announced the opening of its first Cat Compact and Butler Cat Rentals location in Bismarck, N.D., located at 3500 Miriam Ave. The new store expands access to Cat compact equipment, rental solutions and expert local support for customers across central North Dakota.
Designed to serve small and growing businesses, contractors, landscapers, farmers and rural acreage property owners, the new location offers a more accessible way to experience the Cat brand. Cat Compact was created to bring Cat quality, reliability and support closer to customers through a simpler, more approachable experience focused on speed, convenience and local connection.
“Opening our first Cat Compact and Butler Cat Rentals location is an exciting milestone for Butler Machinery and the communities we serve,” said Austin Morken, regional executive director. “This investment reflects our commitment to supporting the hardworking businesses and individuals who keep North Dakota moving. Whether customers are looking to purchase equipment, rent a machine for a short-term project, or grow their fleet over time, we're here to help them get the job done.”
The Bismarck location combines Cat Compact equipment sales with Butler Cat Rentals, creating a customer-focused destination where customers can find the right machine, rental solution, parts, service, and support all in one place. Cat Compact locations are designed around the needs of growing businesses, making it easier to access reliable equipment, practical solutions and trusted expertise backed by Caterpillar's strength.
From landscaping and construction projects to agriculture and property maintenance, the new store offers equipment and rental options for virtually any job site. Customers can explore flexible ownership and rental solutions while working with knowledgeable local team members dedicated to helping match the right equipment to their needs. Cat Compact's brand promise centers on being “At the Ready” — providing dependable machines, responsive service, and support that helps customers keep moving forward.
The opening also reflects Butler Machinery's ongoing commitment to investing in the communities it serves. By expanding its presence in Bismarck, the company is creating greater access to equipment, rentals and support services while strengthening its ability to serve customers throughout the region.
To celebrate the new location, Butler Machinery hosted a Grand Opening Open House on Sept. 29. Customers, community members and industry partners were invited to tour the facility, meet the team, explore equipment and rental offerings and learn more about the services available at the new location.
