Caterpillar Adds IBM, Abbott Labs Execs to Board

PEORIA, Ill. (AP) Caterpillar said it is adding executives from IBM and Abbott Laboratories to its board of directors.

The construction and mining equipment maker said Dec. 9 that Jesse Greene Jr. and Miles White will join the Caterpillar’s board in January.

Greene is the chief financial risk officer of International Business Machines Corp., where he has worked for roughly 30 years.

White is chairman and chief executive of Abbott Laboratories and has been with that company since 1984.

Caterpillar Chairman and CEO Doug Oberhelman said both men will bring valuable experience to the Peoria, Ill. Company’s board.

Greene will be part of the audit committee of Caterpillar’s board, and White will serve on the board’s governance committee.
