The Cave House Museum of Mining and Geology will host its third annual golf tournament, Friday, July 29, at the Cobleskill Golf and Country Club, Cobleskill, NY.

Last year’s tournament raised more than $50,000 for the museum, now being developed in the historic Cave House in the Howes Cave quarry.

Museum Board President Michael J. Galasso said the proceeds from the tournaments have funded much of the phase one interior renovation work.

“As construction progresses at a steady pace, we anticipate another successful outing this year, which will endow the museum foundation and continue achieving project milestones,” said Galasso.

The tournament — which draws industry representatives from around the United States — is a day-long event. Breakfast is offered to participants that morning at The Cave House to showcase the work in progress.

Registration begins mid-morning at the country club. The tournament starts promptly at noon, and lunch is provided. After 18 holes of golf, a social hour is planned, with dinner following.

Prizes will be awarded in several categories.

The tournament is being underwritten by Cobleskill Stone Products.

Major sponsorships are being sought through the New York Construction Materials Association and from other industry benefactors. However, there are a variety of local sponsorships available, and donations are being sought for raffles, the players’ packs, and other tournament features.

The Cave House Museum of Mining and Geology is a non-profit 501 (c) (3) organization.
