After a three year absence, CONEXPO-CON/AGG returns to Las Vegas next March in what is expected to be a massive display of all the newest equipment, technology and products in the construction industry. As has been the case for decades, Construction Equipment Guide will be there to cover the entire event. This year, a new element has been introduced the CEG’s coverage: The Construction Equipment Guide CONEXPO-CON/AGG website.

A separate section of CEG’s main website has been dedicated to featuring multiple aspects of the CONEXPO/CON-AGG event. The website, located at https://www.constructionequipmentguide.com/pages/conexpo/, has been broken down into four main sections: News, Videos, Photos, and an extensive Archive Section.

Up to the Minute Coverage

Leading up to the March CONEXPO-CON/AGG event, the website will feature the latest updates on the event and articles relating to exhibitor showcases. When the event kicks off on March 4th, visitors to the page can expect up to the minute updates on events at the show, with news articles appearing instantly on the site.

“We wanted as much as possible for users to feel like they were there on the floor at ConExpo 2014,” said James Panarella, web editor at Construction Equipment Guide. “We’ve levered our technology for this event to instantly update the site in real time. Whether you are at the show and want further information on what you just saw, or can’t attend but want to keep up date with the latest equipment and product news, this website can supply what you need.”

Video Coverage

CEG will have resources on the ground to capture footage of all the latest product unveilings. It’s one thing to read about the specs of a new excavator; it’s an entirely different thing to actually see it demoed for the first time in public. The video section of the CONEXPO/CON-AGG page will be updated continually with product demos, raw footage from the floor of the show, and interviews with attendees and exhibitors.

Photos from the Floor

Much like the news feed, the photo gallery will be updated with new items from the floor of the show regularly during the event. The gallery will also include archived images from past ConExpo events, tying into CEG’s extensive archival holdings. “We are really proud of the photo section,” said Panarella, “It really showcases our long history with this event, and allows viewers a window thru the decades to remember the way things used to be in the industry.”

A Long History

CEG’s coverage of the ConExpo event dates back decades. The CONEXPO/CON-AGG website takes full advantage of this long history by featuring a host of articles from the past. The website features the original articles from the print edition of CEG republished as they appeared in the pages of CEG. With references to equipment and technology from previous decades, readers can get a sense of how much has changed in the industry – and how much has remained solidly the same. As one reader wrote after reading CEG’s archive article on the 1975 ConExpo show, “It was a great article and as Bob Hope said ’Thanks for the Memories!’"
