HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) - Officials say a Hartford city councilman was arrested along with four others protesting the lack of minority contractors working on the Dunkin’ Donuts Park site in Connecticut’s capital city.
The Hartford Courant reports (http://cour.at/1SYVUlx ) Councilman Larry Deutsch was among those arrested Monday for blocking traffic and preventing vehicles from entering and leaving the construction site of the future home of Minor League Baseball’s Hartford Yard Goats.
Deutsch says he was one of about 15 people who formed a human chain across one of the site’s entrances. The group was charged with breach of peace and trespassing after disobeying police orders to disperse.
Officials say Deutsch missed a city council meeting Monday night because he still remained behind bars.
Deutsch says he will appear on Friday in community court.
