The Construction Management Association of America (CMAA) has announced its annual call for Project Achievement Award nominations.

“The Construction Management Project Achievement Awards program recognizes outstanding achievement in the practice of construction management. The awards program is designed to recognize and promote professionalism and excellence in the management of the construction process. Awards will be given to CM practitioners for projects and programs that reflect this mission,” said Awards Co-Chair Cathy Clifford, CCM of Jacobs Facilities Inc.

To be eligible, projects, programs or program phases must be completed during the period starting June 16, 2006, and ending June 15, 2007. This competition is open to all CMAA members and non-members. Multiple entries from one firm are accepted.

The 2007 Project Achievement Awards will be presented on Oct. 9, 2007, at the Industry Recognition Dinner during the CMAA National Conference & Trade Show in Chicago, Ill.

“Some of the projects and programs honored in the past include: Lambert St. Louis International Airport, W1W Airport Expansion, Los Angeles Unified School District for its New School Construction and Modernization and Repair program, and the Providence St. Joseph Hospital in Burbank, CA,” said Awards Co-Chair Melissa Robins-Cesar, CCM of Tishman Construction Corporation. “With more and more teams being selected by Best Value procurement, a good way to identify those teams is by looking at the industry recognition they’ve achieved.”

The deadline for submissions is Friday, June 15, 2007, at 5 p.m. EST. Submissions should be sent to: CMAA Project Achievement Awards Committee, 7926 Jones Branch Drive, Suite 800, McLean, VA 22102-3303.
