RAPID CITY, SD (AP) A western South Dakota man is out of the hospital just days after a co-worker drove a three-and-a-half-inch long nail into his head.
Jed Bryant, 21, of Piedmont, was working at a construction site in Wall on Jan. 2 when it happened.
The co-worker was standing over him using a nail gun.
Bryant was taken by helicopter ambulance to Rapid City and went into shock on the way. But doctors removed the nail and he was released Monday.
His family said the nail tip stopped a quarter of an inch from Bryant’s brain stem. While infection remains a concern, Bryant has seen little consequence from the accident.
